Nepal climate varies according to its season. Being Nepal a paradise for the trekking and tours, it’s very important to have knowledge on climate and weather of Nepal for visitors. Thousands and thousands of visitors visits Nepal for trekking and tours within a year. There is climatic variation in Nepal according to the geographical structure of a country as Himalayas, Hilly and terai (plane lands) region. The weather also differs from region to region. These three reasons contain different weathers and climates along temperature according to seasons. Himalaya region is located on the upper part of Nepal, towards the boarder of China. It occupies 17% of total land of Nepal. Himalayan region is on the height above 3300m from sea level. It holds all the mountains and it is the cold part of Nepal. Among all parts are covered with snow at the winter time. Hilly region is the mid part of Himalaya and terai region. It contains moderate climate neither cold nor hot. This, region contains the hilly area. It contains the parts which are between the heights of 600 to 3300 above the sea level. Some parts are covered with snow and most of the parts are cold only. As, terai region is on lower part of Nepal. Terai region holds the plane lands. It is nearly up to 6oo meters high from the sea level. Among the total land area of Nepal 17% of land is covered by terai region and it is hot region of Nepal. This region is not even touched by snowfall. Autumn from (mid-September to end of November) and spring (beginning of March to mid-May) are the best time to trek and have a tour on Nepal. There are different seasons in Nepal. Autumn, winter, spring and Monsoon are the four different seasons of Nepal.
- Autumn (Mid September to end November) :
This is the best time to go for a trek and have a tour in Nepal. Generally there most of the visitors and trekkers are also seen further than other seasons. Generally, on autumn the weather is clear with favorable warm days and cold nights. The nights drop into freezing temperature. In this season the Mountains are seen clearly.
- Winter (End November to March):
It is also possible to trek this during winter, from December until the end of February. Daytime temperature will be cooler but the night time will be very cold. The days are gently clear at this time but the winter wind can bring down snow as low as 2500m high than the sea level in Himalaya regions. Early October to the late November is also the busiest period of trekking. In the mid winter January to March trekking is very challenging on the high attitudes with the snowfalls followed by the winter storms. The hardened snow and stabilized wind can be noticed at the end of winter.
- Spring (Mid March through May):
In this spring seasons mornings are usually clear and afternoon brings occasional showers. The days are mixed up with the warm and rain and the displays of wild flowers in this season. Being the time of rice planting the trekkers can enjoy the moments at this season. The whole country is greenery at this period. This season is known as the pleasant trekking season. Late-march to April the sceneries are especially beautiful. Up to April it is also the good time to climb up the high passes because due to snow free and clear mountain views after that up to May weather becomes hazy and disturbed with the clouds.
- The Monsoon (June to Mid-September):
From June to September it is considered as the monsoon season. Generally the morning is cloudy and cloud wisps form on random ridges and peaks. Trekking at this time is generally difficult and uncomfortable as the weather little hot and rains almost all the day. The trial becomes muddy and leech infested and the mountains are usually disturbed by the clouds. But at this season also there are possibilities to trek on places of Himalayas region like Mustang, Dolpa and Tibet. This areas lie on a rain shadow. These areas are the least rainy places of Nepal too.
But for the trekking and tours especially Himalayan is the best part of Nepal. Himalaya’s areas are also known as the kingdom of Heaven for trekking and tours. There are lots of famous and attractive eye catching trekking routes and best place for tours in Himalayas of Nepal. Especially the tourists or visitors hates the hot season for trek and tours. So, Himalayan region is mostly close to the tourists for visiting and trekking. But there are also some famous places on terai and hilly region for visiting. So, though the climate of terai region is hot and humid at the time of (June to November) except these months the climate unconditionally changes to the extreme cold and dusky sometimes, due to the plane platform of land. So, as your wish according to your want on which you feel comfortable you can just have a visit.
