Mount Everest is estimated to be more than 60 million years old. As, it is the highest peak of the world having the height of 8,848 meters (29,029 ft) above from the sea level. It is located on eastern part of Nepal, Solukhumbu District. Mount Everest was names after Sir George Everest officially as English name but it is known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan. Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa from Nepal were the first persons to summit the peak of Mount Everest in May 29, 1953. Mount Everest is formed by the different Shale, Lime stone and Marbles. After a long research and study on this field it is said that summit of Everest was sedimentary below sea level before 450 million years ago and by the movement of Indian tectonic plate pushing up the against the Asian plate it was formed. Now, this rocky high summit is covered with deep snow for whole of the year.

  • Mount K2:

Mount K2 the second highest peak of the world having the height of 8,611 meters (28,251 ft) above the sea level. Mount K2 is located in the Baltistan region of Pakistan. The name K2 was given in 1852 by a British surveyor T.G Montgomerie with K refers Karakoram Range and 2 refers second highest peak. It is rocky mountain up to 6000 meters (19,680 ft) beyond which it becomes an ocean of snow. A. Compagnoni and L. Lacedelli from Italy was the first person to climb Mount K2 in July 31, 1954. Mount K2 is also known as the dangerous and difficult mountain to climb it.

  • Kanchenjunga:

Kanchenjunga is the third highest peak of the world having the height of 8,598 meters (28,208 ft) above the sea level. It is located in the eastern part of Nepal in Taplejung District and partly shared its part to Sikkim, India. G. British people Band and J. Brown was the first person to climb Kanchenjunga in May 25, 1955. Kanchenjunga has an enormous mass with numerous satellite peaks along its ridges. The weather of Kanchenjunga is pleasant and extremely cold very difficult to climb it.

  • Lhotse:

Lhotse is the fourth highest peak of the world with the height of 8,516 meters (27,940 ft) from the sea level. Lhotse name came from Tibet and it is translated as the south peak. It lies on the Khumbu region, a part of Mahalangur Himalayan range and the Everest massive of Nepal. Ernst Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger from Swiss was the first person to summit the top of Lhotse. The Lhotse face is often described as wall of glacial blue ice. Lhotse is combined of three peaks- main summit of 8,516 meters; on the east side 8,414 meters and The Lhotse Shar 8,383 meters. Lhotse is popular for the alternative of Mount Everest for the climbing routes.

  • Mount Makalu:

Mount Makalu is also known as The Himalayan Pyramid. It is 8,481 meters (27’842 ft) high from the sea level. J. Couzy and L. Terray was the first person the summit the peak of Makalu on May 15, 1955 from French.

Makalu is located on the sankhuwasabha District of Nepal. Rising from the ground Makalu’s shape resembles four side pyramids of snow and ice. It is derived from the Sanskrit word Maha Kala and translates as Big Black. The villages around this area are occupied by Gurung and Sherpa.
