Chepang Hill Trek is a recently initiated traveling trail situated in the Chitwan area. It is a short and simple experience for the less known but wonderful ethnic group. This journey will take you to those zones where the little ethnic group called "Chepang" live. The primary aim of opening this trail is to advance their way of life and business. They have a unique way of life which incorporates burrowing for wild roots, fishing, and customary style of cultivating close to the wilderness before they took to inactive existence with the start of dairy cattle raising and the act of agriculture.
We start our journey with a picturesque drive from Kathmandu to Hugdi which is around 80 kilometers away from Kathmandu. We climb through the ethnic towns and ranch patios appreciating the occasional foods grown from on their little farm. Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Hugdi
Starting our excursion, we will travel 80 kilometers west of Kathmandu towards Hugdi. Hugdi bazaar is found 965 feet above sea level. Before coming to Hugdi Bazaar, we need to go through Majim Tar and traverse Hugdi Khola close to its conjunction with the Trishuli River. You will pass through steep, turning streets which are normally brimming with traffic. The path rises from the west side of the routes and tracks with a ridgeline. There is a little guest house in Hugdi Bazaar on the east/Trishuli stream side of the route. Upon landing in Hugdi Bazaar, get refreshed and at night you can walk around the area and experience the town life.
Day 02: Trek Hugdi to Hattiban
Today you will begin your journey from Hugdi after having breakfast. The walk is around five hours and as the height recommended, we will be slowly but steadily climbing up from Hugdi. We will pass by the Magar settlement. We climb consistently and pass by numerous little shops, schools, sanctuaries, towns. We will pass by a basic teahouse and follow the wide path to reach Hattiban. On a sunny morning, Hattiban offers a beautiful perspective on the encompassing slopes. You can learn about their way of life natives by interacting with them.You will find that the settlement here incorporates: Magar, Chepang and Giripuri culture. We will remain in one of the homes at Hattiban.
Day 03: Trek Hattiban to Jyandala
The path leaves from Hattiban from the south end of the town. We will take a wide trail to the south-west and climb for a couple of hours and afterward cross a stream. Jyandala is a town arranged at around 1600 meters. Enroute, you can have astounding perspectives on mountains while investigating other Chepang settlements, for example, Jautesh, Changa and Dinglang. It would be our pleasure to watch the whole Chepang settlements and their way of life. We can have a stunning sight of dawn and nightfall from this town. Day 04: Trek Jyandala to Upper Dhangadhi
Taking leave from Jyandala, we proceed with our journey towards Upper Dhangadhi. We need to walk on both up and down trails today. Going through thick backwood will offer you a chance to stroll through a bird watching heaven today. Other than the huge number of birds various types of wild animals are also additionally found around here. However during day time experience with the wild animals are very uncommon. After a stroll for around six hours, you will reach a Gurung and Chepang town of Upper Dhangadhi. This town is situated at a height of 4029 feet and was the Headquarter of Chitwan areas until 1962.
Day 05: Trek Upper Dhangadhi to Shaktikhor
On the final day of our trip, we depart from upper Dhangadhi in the wake of taking breakfast. Our path takes us down for around 300 meters following a ridgeline. Passing by the town of Kolar, proceed with the ridgeline as we plunge steeply to the tributary underneath the Shakti Khola (495 m/1624 ft). We should swim over the waterway a few times before coming to Sampharang (363 m/1191 ft). After around six hours of walk, we arrived at the bustling market town of Shaktikhor. Shaktikhor is situated at an elevation of 1070 feet above ocean level. Here is a guest community close to the Chepang Museum and Chepang Development Center, which has privately delivered products on special, including mustard seed oil and nectar. Upon landing in Shaktikhor, we can visit the Chepang Museum.
Day 06: Drive Shaktikhor to Kathmandu
With all the excellent recollections and wonderful time journeying inside the ethnic gatherings of individuals' way of life, we drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes around seven hours to arrive at Kathmandu from Shaktikhor. Upon landing in Kathmandu, you will be moved to your separate inns for your overnight remainder.
