Trip Introduction

Annapurna base camp trek 14 days can be termed a bit of a different kind as this suite to all the experienced and inexperienced trekkers longing to trip in the namesake of mountain trekking. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Our airport representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu upon your arrival. He/she will escort you to the respective hotel in a private vehicle. Your prior trip meeting will be scheduled on the very day at the hotel before dinner. However, our airport representative will give you a brief idea about the second day’s schedule on your way to the hotel. During this meeting, we will introduce you to your leader/guide. Please do not hesitate to ask questions about your trek or anything that is related to your trip. To make you feel comfortable, we host a welcome dinner for you in a popular restaurant in the city where you can enjoy authentic Nepali meal along with cultural programs including ethnic dance and songs. And the night you will be spending at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Note: If you happen to arrive after 4 pm you would be briefed about the trip by our guide, this will be the pre-trip meeting for you, so please make sure that you ask all the questions. But if you arrive earlier than 4 pm, your pre-trip meeting would be on that very day at our office. During the meeting, we will introduce your trek leader/guide. For the meeting, please make sure you bring the passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara, transfer to Hotel (823 m)
Total duration: 5-6 hours

Early morning, after breakfast, catch a Tourist bus or we can also organize a private vehicle for you. Viewing countryside villages, farm, shops, and river, you will reach Pokhara. A beautiful place with tremendous views of mountains and lakes. You can also go for Boating at Fewa Lake. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul, Tirkedhunga (1,577m)
Total duration: 3-4 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

After breakfast in Hotel, you will be driving along the Modi River Valley. Starts a short trek from Nayapul, crossing a bridge over Modi Khola, and following the muddy trail, you will reach Tirkhedhunga. Spend overnight at the local lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today, you will walk in long uphill stone steps till Ulleri, a fine stopover for rest and lunch. On the way, you can catch splendid views of mountains, amazing landscape, and cheerful locals. After the tiresome walk in steep uphill till Ulleri, you will get an easy zigzag trail along the shade of refreshing forest, streams, reach Ghorepani. It is actually located on the ridge separating the valley of Kali-Gandaki from the valley of Modi Khola as well as the highest point of this trip. It offers a fantastic view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. Spend overnight at the local lodge.

Day 05: Early Morning Excursion to Poon hill (3210 m) for sunrise view and trek to Tadapani (2,600m)
Total duration: 7-8 hours

Wake up early morning and make your journey to Poon Hill. It is a perfect place for a marvelous view of the sunrise over the snowcapped mountainous peaks. Walking for hours in steep uphill really amaze you when you grasp the eye-popping view of mountains in the north, turning into yellowish color step by step by the strike of sun rays over the snowcapped top. After spending an hour, return back to lodge for breakfast, then continue trek to the next spot- Tadapani. You will pass the forest of Rhododendron, Fir, and Pine walking in ups and down the trail. Now, you will reach a beautiful place- Tadapani, surrounded by Rhododendron forest and the splendid view of Mt. Fishtail. Overnight at Local Lodge.           

Day 06: Trek to Chhomrong (2170 m)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

You will walk on the steep downhill to the Kimrong River through the forest of Oaks and Rhododendron, taking the closest view of Annapurna South and Fishtail. Afterward, crossing a suspension bridge, follow the smooth trail till Gurung village. Climb uphill trail for a while to reach the top of the ridge that joins the route to Chhomrong. It is the last village settle by the Gurung ethnic tribe as well as an entrance for a Sanctuary. Stay overnight at the local lodge.

Day 07: Trek to Dovan (2,600m)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Follow the terraced village and farm fields trail till Chhomrong River, crossing a bridge, you will walk uphill trail till Sinuwa hill. Then onwards, you will enter the dark and thick forest of Rhododendron till Khuldighar. Now, you will follow along and steep steps downhill trail crossing Bamboo, oaks, and Rhododendron forest towards Bamboo. From here, you will walk a short while to reach Dovan where you will stay overnight.

Day 08: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m)
Total duration: 3-4 hours

Climbing steeply for a while on a rocky trail through the forest, you will reach Hinko cave. From here, you will encounter several gorges and avalanche track till Daurali, where you will take rest and have lunch. Following the trail to the Sanctuary crossing avalanche path, ascend toward the Macchapucchre base camp, a grassy moraine platform with several lodges. Allowing time, you can go to the ridge to grasp the picturesque views of Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Macchapucchre.

Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) and back to Deurali (3,231m)
Total duration: 6-7 hours

A charming day of Sanctuary trip is when you reach Annapurna Base Camp. It will be a short but exciting walk in a fairly gentle ascent trail to Annapurna South Base Camp. An impressive view of the picturesque landscape and the snowcapped Himalayas surrounding you really feels amazing. Exploring for a while, now you retrace back to the Deurali for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Trek to Bamboo (2,300m)
Total duration: 6-7 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Spend your time enjoying sunrise view over the Himalayas, then retrace your journey back to Bamboo. It will be the steep downhill walk passing through the forest to the lodge at Bamboo. Take rest and enjoy the refreshing surrounding. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m)
Total duration: 5-6 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

Today, you will have a short climb to Khuldi Ghar and retract to Sinuwa hill, hereafter you will follow long downhill to the Chhomrong Khola and continue trek up to the Chhomrong. After a lunch break, trek steeply descends towards the Jhinu for an overnight stay. Allowing time, you can go for a visit to natural hot spring down to the stream and enjoy the dip bath and relax.

Day 12: Trek to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara (823m)
Total duration: 6-7 hours
Meals Included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner

A final day to trek in Annapurna and be a long distance walk following Modi River to the way reaching Landruk village. From here, you will follow the downhill path leading back to the Modi River reaching Syauli Bazaar, where you will stay for lunch. The walk is pleasant most of the way following the Modi River to Birethanthi and back to Nayapul. Now, trek ends here and drives back to Pokhara. Rest of the time at your own. Overnight at the hotel.   

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu; evening Farewell Dinner  (1350m)
Meals Included: Breakfast

Now, it’s a time to return back to Kathmandu. You can either fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Spend your time as you like. Evening time, we invite you for a farewell dinner at an authentic restaurant. You can share your experience, feedback us and give us a chance to make your evening a wonderful time. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14: Departure transfer (1350m)
Meals Included: Breakfast

It is the last day with us. Our supporting team will take you to the airport for your final departure. We hope to see you again. Additionally, if you have the plan of any adjoining trip, you can let us organize.

Physical Condition and requirement

Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes, however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness, have a positive attitude, self-confidence, and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is important that we consult with our doctor before we decide and set up for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Treks Planner Nepal before booking the trek.
